COUNTY OF NEWELL NO.4 <br />BYLAW NO. 1665-09 <br />MUNICIPAL ADDRESSING BYLAW <br />A BYLAW OF THE COUNTY OF NEWELL NO. 4, IN THE PROVINCE OF ALBERTA TO <br />IMPLEMENT A MUNICIPAL RURAL ADDRESSING SYSTEM. <br />WHEREAS the Municipal Government Act, Chapter RSA 2000, Chapter M-26.1, Section <br />7, with amendments thereto, allows a municipality to name roads or areas within its boundaries <br />and to assign a number or other means of identification to the buildings or parcels of land; <br />AND WHEREAS the Municipal Government Act, Chapter RSA 2000, Chapter M-26.1, <br />Section 7, with amendments thereto, allows a municipality to require an owner or occupant of a <br />building or parcel of land to display the identification in a certain manner; <br />AND WHEREAS the County of Newell No. 4 deems it desirable to put into effect a <br />Municipal Rural Addressing system which can be utilized by emergency service providers and <br />for other purposes such as providing directions for delivery services; <br />NOW THEREFORE, under the provision of the Municipal Government Act, the Council of <br />the County of Newell No. 4, in the Province of Alberta, duly assembled, enacts as follows: <br />1. This bylaw may be cited as the "Rural Addressing Bylaw." <br />2. Definitions: For the purpose of this Bylaw: <br />a. "County" shall mean the County of Newell No. 4; <br />b. "Developer" shall mean the person(s) or company(s) who creates a new structure <br />requiring addressing; <br />c. "Development Officer" means the person appointed as a Development Officer <br />pursuant to the County's Land Use Bylaw, as amended; <br />
